“Girl Stand Up!” – Jesus, Mark 5:41

THE COMMITMENT:

  • The 2nd Thursday evening of the month, 6-9 PM, September – May.

  • South Denver. This is an in-person experience.

  • Each month there will be a new “Monthly Invitation” - individual work for a deeper dive between sessions.

THE COST:

  • $2900. This includes the full guided experience, group soul care/spiritual direction, all materials/resources, food, optional monthly individual spiritual direction sessions & and one story work coaching session.

  • I am open to splitting the overall cost into monthly payments - just ask.

THE INVITATION:

As a woman you are – by design – a powerhouse of deep knowing. You have been given everything needed to live in fullness and wisdom. And yet, the cultural (read: patriarchal and too often “Christian”) messages continue to weigh you down and hold you back.

“Stay Asleep. Play Small. Be Invisible.”

But you were made for more. It’s time to take ownership of your life and your female spiritual journey. No one else can do the work for you. The permission you seek – the authority you are looking for, resides in you.

I want to companion you on this journey. Drawing from my experience as a Vocational Coach, Pastor & Spiritual Director, I have created GIRL STAND UP: A 9-Month Guided Passage for Women.

Over 9 months, I will guide the group (6-8 women) through a soul care experience designed to listen to your life, grow in trust of your own inner knowing, and explore the female spiritual journey. The time includes mapping out our stories, spiritual practices, reflection, group discussion, and exploring our internal worlds. Utilizing Mark 5 as a possible archetype for the female spiritual journey, we will respond to Jesus’ invitation to: “Wake up, Stand Up & Come out of Hiding.”

  • Hi! I’m Bekah Stewart—a Vocational Coach, Spiritual Director, & former Pastor. I created GIRL STAND UP out of my own hunger for an experience spacious enough to explore and ask big questions without completely leaving the Christian sphere and out of a longing for more resources that are Christ-centered, but not male-centered.

    I’m not going to lie - anytime I see someone peddling a product or platform that promises to help you manufacture your “best life now”,I cringe. As women we don’t need to bring more outside authority into our lives. We need to locate our God-given authority within.

    The beauty of Girl Stand Up is that it’s built on this assumption: you are the expert on your own life. I am simply an experienced guide helping you unlock what you already know, and inviting you to live more fully into who you are created to be.

THE GUIDED PASSAGE:

  • We will discuss a framework for the female spiritual journey and explore foundational tools in learning to listen to our lives.

  • We will explore our stories and what they reveal about who we are.

  • We will consider the idea of our true & false selves, utilizing our story work to identify and name our false self.

    We will explore how our wounds are connected to both our false self identities and our calling.

  • Using the imagery of a boardroom table, we will consider & name the various parts or sub-personalities that make up who we are.

  • We will explore how the archetype and invitation found in the story of the Dying Girl & Bleeding Woman aligns with the female journey framework.

  • We will explore Jesus’s proclamation that we “are not dead, just asleep”, and respond to his invitation to wake up.

  • We will consider what keeps us small and what wants to rise up in us, as we respond to Jesus’ invitation to stand up.

  • We will explore power and consider the tendency to outsource our authority to others, as we respond to Jesus’s invitation to come out of hiding.

  • Utilizing our practices and learnings from the passage experience, we will consider Parker Palmer’s question: “Is the life I’m living the same as the life that wants to live in me?”

    We will create a picture of our future self and determine if our current trajectory will move us toward our vision.
