Spiritual Direction Agreement
Spiritual Direction is a space designed to support you as you pay attention to your inner world and discern God’s presence and action within. As a soul companion, the spiritual director partners with you in listening to your life and companions you as you respond to stirrings and invitations that arise. In truth, the director doesn’t do much directing, other than that of pointing you back to your own inner expert.
I (Bekah) received my training in spiritual direction from Denver Seminary as part of my Masters in Christian Formation & Soul Care. I’m a firm believer that the human starting point is good - that you are the Beloved and everything else hinges on living from this place. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals learn to trust their own inner-knowing.
By entering into the Spiritual Direction space with me, you are agreeing to the following (Please read through the then sign then fill out the form below):
Spiritual Direction: I understand that Bekah is a trained spiritual director and not a psychotherapist. Bekah is not functioning as a licensed mental health professional and spiritual direction is not intended as a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, treatment for mental illness, recovery from past abuse, professional medical advice, financial assistance, legal counsel, or other professional services.
Cost: I understand that Bekah charges $100 (USD) for a session (50 minutes). I agree to pay before, or immediately after the appointment via the payment link.
Virtual: I understand that the spiritual direction session will be on zoom & that there are unique limitations to engaging in Spiritual Direction online as opposed to in person. I recognize and accept these limitations.
Confidentiality: Bekah will hold our conversations in strict confidence, regarding our time together as sacred, whether they are by telephone, online media, or email. She will not reveal the content of our conversations unless required to do so by law or court order. I understand that as the client, I am free to share whatever I choose about our conversations with anyone.
Scheduling & Cancelations: Each session will last approximately 50 minutes and scheduling will happen via Bekah’s calendly link. Each person agrees to inform the other of the need to cancel an appointment. Except in unusual circumstances, this cancellation will be given no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
What to expect in a session:
We may engage in silence, centering & grounding, active listening, and a prayerful posture throughout the session, facilitated by Bekah
The client will be prepared to share what they want to bring to the session - it may be a thought, a question, a concern, a prayer, a pain, as it relates to their life and in particular, their spiritual life.
A session may include engaging in contemplative practice to support the client in his/her journey.
